It's definitely the boat ride over on Moosehead Lake that makes a visit to Mount Kineo State Park so alluring. It could also be Kineo's striking cliffs, which rise up 700 dramatic feet and form a rhyolite wedge on the lake's surface.
Stationed inside the Debsconeag Lakes Wilderness Area, just south of Baxter State Park, the ice caves were created by glaciers during the Ice Age and now we humans can climb inside and pretend to hunt for bones and monsters.
